ABCDE YouthWright 2021/2022
Exciting News!
YouthWright 2021 Winners Announced!
A BIG thank you to Dave Deveau, our professional playwright who read 14 play submissions to YouthWright 2021. He had a hard time narrowing down the selections to just three winners. Here they are, in no particular order:
The Infidelity Assassination by Isabella Black from Brookswood Secondary
Kindling by Lily Rosen from Heritage Woods Secondary
Gush by Abbi Pomrey & Myah Steeves from Correlieu Secondary
Mr. Deveau also wanted to acknowledge these plays, which deserve Honourable Mentions:
The Necromancer by Jonathan Hilton from Southridge
The Ward by Mary-Anne Brodie from Brookswood Secondary
And of course, thanks to all the teachers who encouraged, organized and guided their students to enter YouthWright 2021. This opportunity for students is only possible thanks to your dedication and commitment.

This is a great opportunity for your students who love to write. Once they have written a script, teachers submit it in PDF form, and complete a submission application. The best part is that a professional playwright will adjudicate it! Three selected playwrights will get the opportunity to work with adjudicator and are invited to perform their play at the provincial drama festival.
