TEDI Scholarship:
Theatre Equity, Diversity and Inclusion
The Association of BC Drama Educators is actively seeking to support a teacher-to-be who is actively working through PDPP (post-degree professional program) in any university in BC, and is in good standing with their academic/teaching advisor. The award winner will be offered up to $1500 to support their tuition.
Eligible candidates will identify as members of the global majority, or as students from racialized communities, or as Indigenous, First Nation, Metis or Inuit.
Please apply with a letter of intent defining your passion for and commitment to an equitable Performing Arts education, and expanding on how your cultural identity helped to shape your teaching goals. (Academic achievement will not determine eligibility.) Please provide practicum/PDPP references (name/contact).
TEDI (Theatre Equity, Diversity and Inclusion) Scholarship applications are due by Sept. 1 of every year to ABCDE@bctf.ca.
The scholarship award winner will also win ABCDE membership for one year, and complimentary registration in our upcoming professional development conference.
Note: Unfortunately, there have been no eligible candidates in 2024/2025. We urge Drama teachers to mentor and encourage BIPOC teachers-to-be with vigour and we welcome those committed to learning into our teaching community!
